Building a New Pattern for International Cooperation in the Field of New Materials —— the Huayou Tongxiang Headquarters of China Hosts a Roundtable Event on the Belt and Road initiative.

On December 14th, under the guidance of the Office of the Leading Group for the Promotion of the "Belt and Road" Initiative in Zhejiang Province, the "Zhejiang Roundtable on the Belt and Road" event was held at the Huayou Headquarters Research Institute, the third event of its kind in 2023. The event was hosted by the Comprehensive Service Center and Comprehensive Service Alliance for the "Belt and Road" in Zhejiang Province, and co-sponsored by the Development and Reform Commission of Jiaxing City. The theme of the event was "Building a New Pattern for International Cooperation in the Field of New Materials". Shuming Zhang, Vice Director of Provincial Development and Reform Commission, attended the meeting and gave a speech. Group Chairman Xuehua Chen was invited to attend the meeting and delivered a speech. Ying Chen, Head of Strategic Development of the Group, represented the company to share the experience and achievements of international cooperation in the industrial chain. 


Mr. Shuming Zhang expressed that this event provided a platform for enterprises to share their experiences and collaborate on projects, while also serving as a window for government departments and financial institutions to interpret and guide policies. The event was highly effective, and he put forward three suggestions for the next step of work:

Firstly, the trend of economic globalization is irreversible, and it is necessary to adhere to a high level of openness, participate in the construction of the "Belt and Road", and seize the opportunity of the restructuring of the global industrial chain and supply chain;

Secondly, we must use high-level opening-up to promote the construction of a modern industrial system, focusing on national priorities, adhering to the overall foreign policy of the country, balancing the relationship between industrial development and enterprise management. Enterprises should make their global development strategy, while the government should pay high attention to key enterprises and major projects, and maintain classified guidance.

Thirdly, we must seize the early opportunity and take practical measures to further optimize the overseas investment services for enterprises. We should coordinate multiple departments and engage various professional institutions to enhance the value-added services level for overseas investment enterprises in a "government plus intermediary" format. We should strengthen project pre-screening and carry out early due diligence work to ensure smooth progress. 

Chairman Xuehua Chen introduced Huayou's participation in global resource allocation, integration into the global industrial division of labor, and joining the competition in the global market. Huayou has constructed a multinational operation pattern of overseas resources, domestic manufacturing, and global market, and has become one of the Zhejiang enterprises characterized by the most “sweet-potato” economy. Looking forward to the future, Huayou will take the high-quality co-construction of the "Belt and Road" as an opportunity, adhere to the open strategy of "build together, win the future together", and make contributions to the construction of the "Belt and Road" with high-level opening-up and high-quality development.

Over 50 people from the "Belt and Road" Construction Promotion Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce, Zhejiang Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Zhejiang Branch of the People's Bank of China, Zhejiang Branch of China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation, and Zhejiang Branch of the Import and Export Bank attended the meeting.
