Huayou, Vale and Ford ESG were together in Pomalaa, Indonesia

From 22 to 24 April, Huayou and Vale teams welcomed Ford ESG and government affairs team at the Pomalaa project site, which was the first time that Huayou, Vale and Ford met at the project site since Ford officially became a shareholder of the KNI project.

On World Earth Day, the three teams participated in a mangrove conservation activity jointly organised by KNI and IPIP Park. The three parties planted 200 mangrove seedlings, a symbol of hope, at the KNI jetty. Mangrove forests are five times more capable of absorbing carbon dioxide than tropical forests, and are known as the world's "coast guards" and "green lungs of the ocean", playing an important role in purifying seawater, reducing carbon emissions and sequestering carbon, and preserving biodiversity.

The three parties held an ESG communication meeting in IPIP Park. During the meeting, Ford and Vale highly appreciated the ESG work of KNI and IPIP Park, and discussed and exchanged views on the follow-up ESG work plan. After the meeting, the three parties also visited the terminal of IPIP Park and the mining area of Vale.

The teams from Huayou, Vale and Ford visited the Mayor of Kolaka County and the Mayor of Pomalaa Township, as well as the Mekongga ethnic group, a local speciality, and the communities around the project, to listen to the voices of the communities and to understand their aspirations for ecological environment protection and economic development in the local area.

The KNI project is one of the typical representative projects of the cooperation of Huayou, Vale and Ford, which is in line with the development of the new energy era and responds to the call of the Indonesian government. Taking this project as an opportunity, Huayou has started in-depth cooperation with Ford, Vale and other companies with high international influence and high ESG governance level. In the future, Huayou will work hand in hand with more related parties to promote global green and sustainable development and create a better future for mankind.

PLZ hold 2nd anniversary celebration

Recently, Prospect Lithium Zimbabwe (PLZ) held its 2nd anniversary celebration event and award ceremony for outstanding employees.

In the past two years, innovation and perseverance have been the important factors for PLZ to achieve good results. In the face of difficulties and obstacles, the team members persevered, fully carried forward the Huayou Spirit of continuous self-improvement and the pursuit of excellence, and pioneered in technological innovation and industrial upgrading, to consolidate the company's leading position in the lithium industry.

Japhet, one of ESG and Sustainable Development Department, spoke as the representative of excellent staff, he expressed his gratitude to PLZ Company for the job opportunity and full confidence in the future development of PLZ Company. He is one of the earliest batch of Zimbabwe personnel working on site of PLZ Acardia project. Since the beginning of the establishment of PLZ, Japhet has been sticking to the site of the project, actively carrying out ESG related work, maintaining the relationship between the company and the neighbouring community, and contributing to the company's sustainable development work.

Joshua dzedze, a warehouse team leader in the Warehouse Section of the Finance Department, has been joining the PLZ team since 2022, and has been conscientious, responsible, practical and hard-working in warehouse management, which has been recognised by the departmental leaders and colleagues, and he is very grateful to the company for its trust and cultivation.

George Namanga, Team Leader of the Concentrator's Auxiliary Workshop, is in charge of packing and supervising the work of the Tianjin staff in the translucent lithium feldspar area. He treasures the job opportunities provided by the company, and learned from the regular skills training organised by the companyl; the company pays employee benefits on time, and his family's condition has been improved. In the future, he will follow PLZ all the way forward.
