On March 18, the signing ceremony of a strategic cooperation agreement between Tianjin B&M Technology Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Huayou Cobalt) and Beijing WeLion New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was held in Beijing.

▲ Zu Xinran, General Manager of the Marketing Center at Huayou New Energy Industry Group, and Chen Liye, Assistant to the Chairman of WeLion New Energy, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties.
The collaboration aims to pioneer innovative models in the solid-state battery sector, with both parties committing to share technical resources and jointly develop next-generation cathode materials, including lithium- manganese-rich cathode materials for hybrid solid-liquid and all-solid-state lithium batteries.
WeLion New Energy Chairman Yu Huigen emphasized that the partnership would accelerate breakthroughs in solid-state battery performance and cost reduction while fostering sustainable business models across the supply chain.

Chen Yaozhong, Senior Vice President of Huayou Cobalt and Chairman of B&M Technology, highlighted Huayou’s integrated industrial chain capabilities and its "product leadership, cost leadership" strategy as key drivers for the collaboration. He expressed confidence that the alliance would deepen strategic synergies and unlock new growth opportunities for the industry.
The agreement positions both companies as core partners in the solid-state battery value chain, with WeLion prioritizing joint development projects with B&M. The collaboration is expected to enhance Huayou’s innovation capabilities in new energy materials, generate substantial economic value, and contribute to global sustainable development goals.
Senior executives from both companies, including WeLion Co-President Li Guogang and Huayou New Energy Research Institute Dean Xu Ning, attended the ceremony, underscoring the strategic importance of the partnership.
